Launch Pad 2
Launch Pad 2 (LP-2) is located between the IPF and the LSS/LP1 and is used for the launch of smaller sub-orbital rockets. Rockets are transferred to LP-2 within the SCAT from the IPF. The SCAT crane is used to lift the rockets/launch vehicles from the transporter-erector onto the launch stool. When final preparations are complete, the SCAT is pulled clear of the launch area. LP-2 has been mainly used for the launch of target missiles, however it can also be used to support the launch of small commercial launch vehicles and their payloads.
