Campbell Named President and Ceo Alaska Aerospace Corporation

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Craig E. Campbell was unanimously appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alaska Aerospace Corporation by it’s Board of Directors at their meeting on September 20th.

Pat Gamble, Chairman of the Board of AAC, said that “Craig brings a strong combination of entrepreneurship and leadership to Alaska Aerospace Corporation at precisely the time in the growth of the company that we need it. The future for Alaska Aerospace in the space launch world is bright and the Board agreed that Craig will take us there.”

Campbell, a former Alaska Lieutenant Governor, has served as the acting chief executive officer since July 2012. 

Upon his appointment Campbell said, “ I am honored to be appointed and serve as the President and CEO of Alaska Aerospace Corporation. We have a great team in place and are aggressively working to secure opportunities and jobs in the Aerospace industry for Alaska.”Alaska Aerospace Corporation, created by State statute in 1991, is owned by the State of Alaska and functions as an independent corporation. The Corporation was established to take a leadership role in the development of the aerospace industry in Alaska. The corporation launched their first rocket in 1998 and has had a 100% success rate with the sixteen rockets launched since then. Customers have included NASA, Lockheed Martin, the Missile Defense Agency, and the US Air Force.
