Anchorage, AK—Local contractor, Brechan Enterprises Inc., has just been awarded a $3.5 million contract by Alaska Aerospace Development Corporation. This contract is Phase 1 of the Rocket Motor Storage Facility (RMSF) construction and includes all excavation, backfill and grading of the access road from Pasagshak Road to the RMSF area. The work also includes installation of the water utilities, power, communication lines and fencing. Construction of Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2009.

The RMSF will allow the Kodiak Launch Complex to provide better services to their clients allowing greater flexibility in shipping and launch scheduling. Industry standard earthen covered magazines within the RMSF will provide safe, secure, and environmentally controlled storage of rocket motors.
